In the years preceding the First World War, two brothers and the ladies they love narrate their victories and setbacks.
The tale of Canada’s coming of age during the Great War is told in 100 Years From Now, which is based on the inspirational life of Mae Belle Sampson of Ontario, one of the first women to enlist in the Canadian Army Medical Corps.
Encouraging, lighthearted, and poignant, 100 Years from Now transports viewers on a melodic voyage from Georgian Bay to Vimy Ridge and beyond with an original folk music score by the Shipyard Kitchen Party band, dramatic storytelling, and breathtaking historical cinematography.

BILLY BISHOP GOES TO WAR: A DRAMATIC MUSICAL COMEDY ABOUT A HERO

This well-liked production, which was the recipient of the Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama, honors Billy Bishop, Canada’s most famous flying ace and World War I hero. Actor Matt Evans plays the iconic Bishop in the two-man musical, which also includes an incredible 15 other characters. Matt recently made an appearance on CBC’s Murdock Mysteries, and he will also participate in the upcoming television series Fellow Travellers. In addition, he starred in several Canadian feature films, such as The Birdmen, Black Swan, Things To, and Beowulf & Grendel.
Using the on-stage piano to score and pause battle scenes, pianist Michael Mulrooney co-pilots Billy Bishop Goes to War with Evans. He takes us from bar rooms to ball rooms while deftly evoking laughter and tugging at the heartstrings with his musical prowess. Mulrooney, who has experience with Canadian theater productions of The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Ragtime, and Showboat, is in high demand as a conductor, pianist, arranger, and music director. Michael is a lecturer at the esteemed Sheridan College Musical Theatre Program. He has formerly taught at York University.

Hampton was a leader among his peers, and the FBI perceived a threat in his efforts to support his community and set a good example. In December 1969, Hampton was shot and killed during a pre-dawn raid with the assistance of informant William O’Neal.
